How to safely remove a toilet without flooding your house 1️⃣ Shut off the water at the supply valve 2️⃣ Flush once to empty the tank 3️⃣ Sponge or vacuum remaining water from tank & bowl 4️⃣ Disconnect the supply line 5️⃣ Remove the caps & bolts at the base 6️⃣ Rock gently, don’t pry — break the wax seal 7️⃣ Lift straight up (toilets are heavier than they look) 8️⃣ Plug the drain immediately with a rag or test plug Pro tip: Put the toilet on cardboard or a drop cloth to avoid cracks and mess. #
