Erasure or blackout poetry is one of my favorite forms of poetry because of the unexpected connections the poet finds on the page. I’ve been creating an erasure poem for every letter in the alphabet using pages from the encyclopedia. I chose this page for the first word “City Lights” but as I was making the poem I realized it also had “Civil Rights Movement” on the same page.
